Woodwind instruments produce sound by blowing air through the instrument and are divided into two groups - the flute group and the reed group. Instruments in the flute group make sound when air is blown across an open hole, while instruments in the reed group have a reed, or two, that vibrate when air is blown into them.
1 flute, 1 oboe, 1 bassoon and 1 clarinet make up a WOODWIND QUARTET.
Listen to some of the these instruments make music together.
